Community guidelines

Help make RISE a respectful place to connect

Adults listening to one another in a supportive conversation

Everyone brings a different experience. These guidelines apply to community posts, live conversations and RISE Buddy connections.

Share experience without prescribing for others. You can talk about what you have experienced. Do not tell another member to change treatment, stop medication or ignore advice from their healthcare team.

Respect privacy. Do not share another member’s story, personal details, messages or images outside the space where they chose to share them. Do not make your own recordings or screenshots of other participants.

Let people choose how they participate. Listening is welcome. Do not pressure anyone to disclose health information, speak in a session or exchange contact details.

Be considerate. Allow others time to speak, respect different backgrounds and experiences, and avoid comparisons that judge someone else’s recovery.

Keep peer support within its role. Other members and buddies cannot provide clinical assessment, treatment or emergency support.

Raise concerns. Contact RISE if something makes you uncomfortable or appears to breach these guidelines. Do not use community reporting to seek emergency help.

RISE may remove content or suspend access where behaviour puts safety, privacy or the wellbeing of others at risk.
